There is nothing quite like a day of cycling with the family, and Dean Forest Cycles has everything you need to make the most of your day’s cycling in the Forest of Dean. We’ve even got a trailer for the dog!
Enjoy the forest with the whole family
The Forest of Dean is a fantastic place to bring the family to enjoy some time on two wheels. Start with a coffee and a bacon butty here at Dean Forest Cycles, grab a hire bike and the rest is up to you. Roll out of our door for picnics by the lake, wildlife watching, discovering sculpture trails, exploring historic tunnels and so much more – there’s enough to keep you coming back again and again.
When you’re done, we’ll be ready to welcome you back with more homemade snacks, a cuppa, juice for the kids or even a beer for the grown ups!

Rides for all abilities
There’s few places better in the UK to explore by bike than the Forest of Dean. There are many sign-posted, easy to follow routes and a near-endless network of tracks and trails if you’re looking to make up your own adventure. The Forest of Dean 12 Mile Family Cycle Trail is a favourite for many visitors, offering an all-weather, all-abilities ride that’s suitable for kids and grown ups.
Our Family Cycle Trail Bikes are a great option for the rides listed below, but we’ve also got eBikes and mountain bikes for those who want something a bit different. There’s also our eCargo bike, kids trails, kids seats, the Tag-a-long and even the dog trailer.
We can also advise on custom routes if you want to get a bit more adventurous. Or you can explore the forest’s mountain bike trails!

Family Cycle trail
A 12 mile family cycle trail loop that uses old railway lines and surfaced tracks. Perfect for all ages and abilities with plenty of wildlife and scenery.

The Wye Valley Greenway

A 7km traffic-free family route from the National Diving Centre to beautiful Tintern, taking in the Wye Valley and 1km long Tidenham tunnel.
Peregrine Path
symonds yat to monmouth
A 12km traffic-free family route from Symonds Yat to historic Monmouth, with stunning views, Arthurian legends and birds of prey.
